Joke of the Year… Suzuki, Toyota sign MoU to make EVs in India…LOL

Toyota Motor Corporation, the world’s biggest automaker and Suzuki Motor Corporation, parent company of Maruti Suzuki concluded a memorandum of understanding to develop electric vehicles (EV) in India in around 2020.

Suzuki will make the EVs, and supply some to Toyota, while Toyota will provide technical support. Additionally, Toyota and Suzuki will conduct a comprehensive study of activities for the widespread acceptance and popular use of EVs in India. These will include establishment of charging… stations, training for after-service technicians employed throughout sales networks, and systems for the appropriate treatment of end-of-life batteries.

This is because…. Government of Andhra Pradesh and Japanese auto giant Toyota signed an MoU in which Toyota would launch electric vehicles in Amravati, the state’s upcoming capital.

The state government is keen to promote electrification of mobility in Amravati which is on the lines of a similar objective of the central government. Toyota executed a feasibility study on the introduction of the Prius PHEV and a ‘small EV commuter’.

Does it mean:

  1. “World’s biggest automaker ” Toyota is incapable of manufacturing EVs by itself?
  2. It believes that its better to make EVs in India rather than in US or Japan?
  3. Is Toyota going to get rid of its “Py-Pus” hybrid?
  4. And because of all the above it has signed MoU with a company that doesn’t make any EVs either? Ullu samjha ke?
  5. And on top of that WHY are State Govts. signing MoUs with companies that never manufactured pure EVs in their home country? (Both are betting on Hybrid not pure EV.

This got to be some kind of a Joke! And these politicians think we are morons to allow them to gift away our Tax Money to these Industrial thieves. A few years back the Maharashtra govt signed an electricity deal with such a company (ENRON) which employed hookers and never produced even 1watt of electricity in its History.

This looks more like their plan to grab 1,000 acre land, tax free status for 10yrs & get 3,000 crore loans at dirt cheap rates (almost free) for their petrol vehicle expansion just like Tata DID WITH Nano plant in Sanand.

Its just as good or AS BAD as getting oil companies to invest or research in Solar Energy. But isn’t Exxon Mobil sponsoring the Solar Race events? There we go again… It is really unfortunate that excellence in EVs are judged by a competition sponsored by Oil Companies. Its as good or AS BAD to let the Mafia to do the policing in a country…
