
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the country’s largest power equipment manufacturer has won an order for supply of electric buses along with charging infrastructure in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE INDIA) and the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch a national rally called electric solar vehicle championship (ESVC) 3000. This rally is supported by the NITI Aayog.

The national rally is planned on the theme of world solar challenge, Australia, a statement issued by ARAI said on Wednesday.
The vehicles designed and manufactured by engineering college students will start from Delhi and cover over 1600 kms in eight days before ending at ARAI Pune, Chakan.

The move is primarily aimed at commercial vehicles that will ply with swapable batteries.
