About PlugInCaroo

Let us as a Nation move towards fuel efficient vehicles, clean water, green farms and a clean-green environment! India receives some of the highest rainfall in the world... still the country thirst for water... why? India has the highest cattle population in the world...but hardly extracts any biogas/gobar-gas from it... why? India tops the world in almost all agricultural products... but less than 1% is organic/natural... why? India receives good sunlight and has a Solar powered Airport... but less than 0.01% of houses are powered by solar power... why? India has the best electric/CNG car in the world (E2O/Tata NANO).. but 99.99% of car owners prefer to pay in dollars for their petrol.. why? (1Ltr = 1$ almost). All these problems can be solved by us 100% within our lifetime... if we take action to solve these issues personally and bringing awareness about it, (instead of discussing TV serials, celebrities, cricket scores & political parties). Let us together build a bridge of knowledge over ignorance! Lets us become independent from "Fuel, Water and Seed control". Right from the time when fire was discovered as a source of energy people have been trying to control the source of energy... not any more!

The Lead-Acid Battery’s Demise Has Been Greatly Exaggerated

An article from Forbes.

Following my recent article – Lead-Acid Batteries Are On A Path To Extinction – I received an email from Battery Council International (BCI), the trade association for lead battery manufacturers, recyclers and suppliers. Members directly provide nearly 25,000 U.S. jobs and make a $26.3 billion annual impact to the economy – and have experienced a 20% direct job growth since 2016.

They took particular exception to the headline, arguing that in contrast to my arguments, lead-acid batteries have a bright future. A key point they made in the email was that lead-acid batteries are 99% recyclable, while lithium-ion batteries are recycled at a rate below 5%.

So, I asked them if they would like to make those points in an interview. They agreed.

To summarize my view, I agree that… Continue reading

Bajaj Chetak electric scooter – Lot more is required than just copying others

Bajaj has launched Chetak as if doing the country a great favour. Electric Chetak as a product would have been excellent ONLY for a new company… Hum mangal par jaachuke hai…bhai… Neil Armstrong chaand par jaa ne ka time beeth chuka hai. Tho baisaab Bajaj apna1960 ka design museum me rakho bhai… Thanks. Being an EV fan I refuse to accept 2nd grade design from a market leader.

Aap Classic-Chetak-petrol me kyun nahi banata bhai… EV fans ko kyon thamata hai aise product?

Aaaagaya… dadaji ka Chetak… dadaji ke liye..

Rajiv Bajaj had the gall to announce an electric version of the now extinct Chetak. A vehicle they could not DEFEND in the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) age…

Its really hard to believe… that a company which had launched Pulsar… and being the market leader… today launched this oldie scooter… promising that it is a scooter for tomorrow.

Probably 2Wheeler market leader of India, Bajaj still doesn’t take the Electric Vehicle Industry very seriously. Why else would he bring in…

Google’s Kitty Hawk electric aircraft with 100-mile range

Kitty Hawk, the electric flight startup backed by Google co-founder Larry Page, unveiled its third aircraft on Thursday. Heaviside, which is abbreviated to HVSD, is roughly 100 times quieter than a helicopter, and it can travel the 55 miles from San Jose to San Francisco in about 15 minutes, the company says.

Farming under solar panels saves water and creates energy – Futurity

Farming crops under solar panels, a process called agrivoltaics, can boost food production, water savings, and the efficiency of electricity production, researchers report.

Building resilience in renewable energy and food production is a fundamental challenge in today’s changing world, especially in regions susceptible to heat and drought.

Agrivoltaics, also known as… Continue reading

The attack on Agro-Ecology by powerful lobbies

Powerful lobbies with vested interests see agroecology as a threat to their influence on farming systems

Agroecology is recognised worldwide as a system that enhances fertile landscapes, increases yields, restores soil health and biodiversity, promotes climate resilience and improves farmers’ well-being. Its practices are supported by many agricultural scientists, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, farmers’ groups and several NGOs. It is therefore surprising that the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, based on a brainstorming session that included industry representatives, sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi opposing Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF). ZBNF, developed and publicised by agro-scientist Subhash Palekar, has been adopted by Andhra Pradesh.
