Energy World Qatar

#EnergyWorldQatar

Visited the Energy World Qatar expo in Doha, Qatar going on from 18 to 28 November 2015. An awesome display of information regarding Science and Energy aimed towards the kids and people. What was interesting was while people were having a great time playing with different equipments they were also learning the science behind it. Even the parents were enjoying themselves. Qatar should seriously consider setting a building for this kind of stuff. Wonder why no Schools were invited to attend the Expo? Most of the volunteers were very active and enjoying distributing information.

It started off with a short Movie show which explained the resource crunch that the world will experience in the coming years not on one front but on 3 fronts – ENERGY, WATER and FOOD. The world will be screaming for these three as more… Continue reading

Toyota Mirai – The Fuel Cell Car

Toyota Mirai.jpg

Early adopters pay for the privilege of having the latest technology. That will certainly be true for the dozen UK customers who will take delivery of a new Toyota Mirai by the end of the year. Buying one outright will mean laying out an eye-watering £66,000 for the mid-sized fuel cell hybrid—more than twice the price of the similarly-sized, but utterly conventional, Toyota Avensis saloon. Most Mirai customers will probably opt for a… Continue reading

Government, Tax and Oil… the happy nexus!

You hear a lot of talk about the Government setting up targets for Electric Vehicles and the so called not too famous FAME scheme for faster adoption of Electric vehicles. But you dont see any action on the ground. You dont see any company coming forward to create electric cars, nor do you see the government placing any orders for Electric Bus or Cars. No we are not talking about “Pilot Projects” which are… Continue reading

Scooters or Motorcycles? – What’s better?

Both scooters and motorcycles enable riders to enjoy low fuel prices and quick navigation through town. However, these two-wheeled vehicles also have major differences in engine size and body design that can mean the difference between safely riding at highway speeds and the ability to extract yourself from fast-moving, hazardous conditions.

When you are building an electric 2 wheeler you will always come to the… Continue reading

The projected/estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is approximately 3 years from production. LiFePO4 life expectancy is approximately 5-7 years but its energy density is lower than normal Li-Ion cell (Li-Co). According to JB Straubel, lithium-ion storage capacity increases by a factor of two, in general, every ten years. He also stated that he personally witnessed an improvement of 40% in only four years, between the release of the Tesla Roadster and the Tesla Model S.
dtbattery: ”For the normal lifepo4 cells, the energy density is 115 wh/Kg, for other Li-Co-Mn-Ni-O cells the energy density is around 180 wh/kg.”
forum comment: battery will double their capacity every 4-5 years.. So what’s the point in buying now a battery that costs…

Yamaha PES2 and PED2 electric bikes

Yahama PES2

Yamaha has revealed a series of new concepts which will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

After revealing two exciting electric bike concepts at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show – PES1 and PED1, Yamaha now unveils two more concepts – PES2 and PED2. As the name suggest, the two which are now revealed, are designed on the same lines as the one’s which were revealed two years ago. But, there are differences, mechanically as well as in design.

In 2014, Yamaha had confirmed that they will be launching the production variants of PES1 and PED1 concepts in 2016. It could be possible that the PES2 and PED2 are the next step in the development of the production ready electric bikes.

2015 Yamaha PED2 Concept

PES stands for Street Sport, whereas PED stands for Dirt Sport. Both these electric concept bikes are powered by a DC brushless motor with detachable lithium-ion battery pack.

Equivalent in performance to Class II (50–125cc) mopeds and motorcycles, the PES2 is more tuned for performing in the city. Weighing less than 130 kg, it is 1,920 mm long, 680 mm wide, and 1,060 mm tall. To offer better pickup, the PES2 also gets an additional electric motor which is built into the hub of the front wheel. This makes the PES2 a 2WD motorcycle.

On the other hand, the PED2 is built to perform on the mountain trails. It is designed designed to capitalize on the clean, quiet performance character of an EV to better enjoy riding through the natural world. PED2 is 2,045 mm long, 775 mm wide, and 1,205 mm tall. It has a vehicle weight of under 100 kg.

The Tokyo Motor Show 2015 will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 (Thu.) to November 8 (Sunday).

Who Killed The Indian Electric Car-E2O?..

In an era when India is trying to battle the environment pollution and jump onto the clean energy bandwagon it may come to you as a surprise PlugInCaroo announcing that Mahindra could be on a mission to do away with India’s one & only electric vehicle. It is as much of India’s pride as is Tata Nano because E20 was and is the most economically practical & sustainable electric car in the whole wide World.

Who Killed The E2O - the Indian Electric Car... the answer could be... AN INDIAN!

Who Killed The E2O – the Indian Electric Car?… the answer could be… who else but AN INDIAN!

Why we are saying this is because our voice could be the last desperate & feeble voice in the wilderness before life could be snuffed out of E2O… just like the mother Indrani Mukerjea who smothered the life out of her daughter Sheena Bora in the sensational murder case.. there is a possibility that Mahindra is trying to kill E2O. Right now E2O is lying in ICCU counting the days…

For instance how much advertisement do you see on for E2O?… now compare it with… Continue reading
