EV like Tata & Mahindra makers don’t want to sell EVs thats why they are pricing EV higher than all their models.
Tata’s subsidiary Tata Petrodyne is earning $200 billion from selling petrol why will Tata promote EVs?
Mahindra completely swallowed… the FAME subsidy by increasing the cost of E2O on paper. That’s why 2013 E2O before FAME subsidy is cheaper than 2018 after subsidy and fall in li-ion prices. Only hope is Ather.
Okinawa is a scooter company that promised a range of 200kms. But it is true only if driven at 30kms speed. In spite of that Okinawa Praise is the only escooter that can truly compete with Honda Activa as it is in same price bracket. Okinawa Praise is almost at par with the Ather scooter in performance and looks at half the price and Okinawa has no annual fees. Ather should have given unlimited charging with AtherOne because not everyone will charge more than once or twice a day so there is no loss for the company.
UBER-ZIATION

Uberization
Can’t understand why govt and companies need to put up charging points.
People are not aware that putting out charging points can get them ₹50 per hour/per point. They should be made aware and in doing so there is money for them and these companies! Ofcourse they will not be charging for electricity (as it is illegal) but as “parking fees” 😉 Just like in UBER where small time Drivers bought Rs 10 Lakhs car through loans to invest in Taxi & transportation infrastructure…people will be ever ready to invest 5Lakh to set up Solar or Wind based micro charging stations near their shops/houses if they get 25% NET profit from it.
Another way forward is to NOT TO GIVE permit to ICE car makers to manufacture EVs . With it or Against it? COME ON PEOPLE These manufactures cannot be TRUSTED to create vehicles that will destroy their EXISTING businesses??!!?? They are not going to cut the bark where they are sitting since 150 yrs!!!
Only independent startups should be given all the subsidies, cheap land, licence and permits to make EVs. Its a hard decision but at least it will stop these ICE carmakers from stealing the FAME subsidy.
EG companies like Tesla, Apple and Ather who do not make ICE vehicles should be supported and companies like TATA, Mahindra, Maruti-Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, BMW, etc should be completely ignored by the GOVT tender process.

Li-Ion is a COMPLETE failure in the Indian market?
There are over 10 million E-Rickshaws in India that can carry 8 to 10 people using Lead-Acid (LA) batteries sharing the same space on the road with other ICE cars, rickshaws and E-cars and eScooters… In a day most LA ERickshaws do a minimum of 200kms and maximum 300kms in 24hrs (double shift and spare batteries)…. now compare this with max 5,000 Li-Ion cars, scooters and E-Rickshaws that travel much less than 80kms carrying less than 4 people all over the country daily .
E-Rickshaw passengerKms = No. of passengers x Kms x No. of eRickshaws
If one compares the ERickshaw passengerKms with LiIon Car passenger kms then LiIon car passenger kms is so negligible that its almost non-existant in comparison to ERickshaw PassengerKms.

Li-Ion EVs have failed BIG TIME in India!
Which is a success? And which is a failure?
So based on this LeadAcid EVs are a success or a failure? Even compare the LA eScooter sales with Li-Ion escooter. I would say Li-Ion is an complete failure in the market (based on the numbers).
Why EV makers cannot accept the fact that LA E-Rickshaws are successful EVs, while their Li-Ion EVs don’t sell is a big question mark.
Is it so that they can say “we don’t consider them as EVs”. WHY? Its completely moronic attitude of ECar makers. EV are EVs…. whether anybody considers them to be or not to be is not the question.
Take the eg of the Okinawa LeadAcid Praise which is a big hit! There is absolutely no escooter in the market right now except Ather which can better Okinawa Praise.
Reason of stagnant Indian EV Industry since 5yrs is dependence on Li-Ion batteries:
The main reason Indian EV industry is in a limbo and completely stangnant since last 5yrs is because of its OVERDEPENDENCE of only ONE TYPE of battery – the Li-Ion. Vehicles with LA battery are affordable and selling. But Li-Ion vehicles are a big flop!
If Okinawa brings out Li-Ion Praise it will not sell as much as the LA Praise (anybody want to bet on it?) after all who will buy the same scooter at double the price with slightly improved performance? The sticker price matters especially in case of jumping the curve to a new technology.

Search on YouTube for “battery explosions”. Compare the Li-Ion explosions with Lead Acid. There is absolutely no comparison to Lead Acid Battery!
Dangers of Li-Ion battery is like an elephant in the house who nobody wants to address. EV enthusiast who are aware of it do not want to put off petrol heads who want to try EV. The truth is Li-Ion battery can explode if it overheats. There have been many mobile phones explosions.
Li-Ion is such a dangerous technology that all airlines ban even powerbanks to be carried in checked in luggage and has to be carried in hand luggage. There have been many explosions in houses (caused due to overheating while charging) from chinese Li-Ion batteries for scooter and hoverboards (nonbelievers can youtube search).
LEAD ACID BATTERIES ARE THE SAFEST BATTERY TILL DATE!
Lead Acid batteries dont explode easily… see above video…
Such a danger is not there with LA batteries. Once people think LA batteries EVs become easy to make…. so easy that kids can make E-Cars in school science projects. But if they think Li-Ion even to get a pack big enough to make a E-car becomes a huge burden on the startup budget and then they have to reduce the size of the car to half and also reduce the weight of the car and then it looks ridiculous and everything goes downhill from there!

#WhatIf Petrol AND Diesel crosses Rs 100 per ltr? Panic Selling of ICE Cars? SUV market affected?
PETROL & DIESEL Prices expected to go through the roof:
Today (14Sept2018) the price of Petrol in Mumbai is Rs 88.67. There is a good chance that Petrol will cross Rs100 after Nov-Dec2018 when the IranSanctions kick in and India will be handtwisted by US to buy either US or Saudi crude oil. Iran crude oil was given to us at ridiculously long credit and… that too in Indian Rupees.
Shocking drop of Indian Rupee vs US Dollar

Fall of Indian Rupee vs US Dollar
Also Indian Currency has dropped almost 50% in last 20 years and 26% in last 5 yrs which is shocking! Wonder if there will be a gradual shift to EVs in 2019. Will there be any sense in buying ICE vehicles if petrol/Diesel crosses Rs 100? I wonder if there will be PANIC SELLING of ICE vehicles by users if Petrol crosses Rs 100?

India rising? or India falling?
India Rising or India Falling?
Year 2019 will be the WORST YEAR EVER in the history of ICE cars in India. That year will also be the starting year of the end-of-ICE-Cars in India. Year 2019 end se ICE cars ke liya ulta ginti shuru! Or it could be said that all ICE car makers will see falling sales from 2019 on wards. If the Indian Rupee keeps falling like this India will be completely EV country by 2025. SURE no doubt about that.
