Ola’s disappointing Car launch | Ola launches Ather Scooter @Rs99,000😃 Ather vs Ola its fight to the finish… Will only 1 survive?

Happy Independence Day… but no independence from Charging Station for the eScooter… yet and no slow scooter. Why?

Well the Electric Car seems to have all glass roof… which would be really awesome in the rain & also in the night to see the stars & the lit-up skyscrapers… but what about mid-day sun?

Hope he is not expecting us to put tint on the glass roof? Putting tint on a full glass roof would be such a WASTE… as it will block the entire sky view.

No price was mentioned nor was the car properly displayed… but it could cost around Rs 15 Lakhs for a range of 500kms. Actual range would be around 350kms.

Its hilarious that Ola had to…

close its comments section of its YouTube Channel due to the hate mail it gets because of its bad customer support. This attitude is baffling… to see a company close down its consumer feedback. Of course there will be those fake comments by rivals… but you as a CEO address those issues not walk around it.

I don’t know why Ola posted the eCar launch video? … to announce the car or was it because of 15 August? I guess everybody knows about it…

He then said “dekhoge kya?” … & showed what looked like a 3d animation of a car that looks like a Tesla copy… He could have postponed it… if the car was not ready…. waste of our time!

Obviously Tata Motors is not going to loose much sleep over this launch. Tata Motors looks safe at least for another 10 yrs… or at least till the time Ola opens its comments section. 😃 😃 😃

But Ola managed to save the day… by stabbing Ather in the back… with the launch of an electric scooter called S1 with similar specs to AtherX Gen3 (the 2022 model) at a price of just Rs 99,000/-

The specifications are as

  • Battery: 3 kWh
  • Range: 100 kilometers
  • Top Speed 95 kmph
  • Price: Rs 99,000/-

OLA 2022 (S1) with Dashboard App MoveOS3 – (Data Sim Card might be required)

ATHER 2022 (xGen3):

Ather will be living its worst days… but it has something that Ola doesn’t have… Customer Support. In the next few years even this gap will be filled by Ola for sure.

Being scooters with non-portable battery Ather, TVS-iQube, & Bajaj-Chetak are finding themselves bang in the line of fire of Ola.

Bajaj & Chetak were just pretenders & crawling on their knees all these years… the biggest pressure will be on Ather.

While Hero Electric, Okinawa & Ampere laugh their way to the bank with portable battery scooters.

The silver lining is that the Indian 2 wheeler market is huge… but how huge? Ola sold more scooters in its very 1st year… than what all of them sold last year… To survive Ather will need to change its strategy.

Ola S1 can cross the 500,000 (half a million) vehicle sales in 12 months by Dec 2023.

Or will it be a one player game? Only time will tell.
