OLA! BEWARE! – Avoid single dandi… ONLY use double dandi Ola Scooters!!!

Avoid the Ola eScooter with single dandi in the front arm of the wheel which was probably taken from autorickshaw front wheel design for quicker assembly, removal of front wheel & repair.

Such a single arm design is ok for:

1 . Slow Speed & in areas of smooth & even roads like Holland… not in poorly maintained Indian city road where there are lots of potholes on roads.

2. Non-performance of stunts

3. Maintain a 100% Rust proof joint with a sleeve

Since these above conditions do not match in Indian conditions PLEASE AVOID BUYING single arm Ola eScooters.

Ola S1 Air now comes with Telescopic Front Fork … but OLA continues to sell the old model with single arm. The problem is that the joint is too short to take the the severe hits of the potholes at high speed and or even handle the constant torque of speeding-&-braking. The black arm also seems to be made with ALUMINIUM which OBVIOUSLY cannot take a lot of stress. The joint seems to have a collar with double the height of the previous collar. Even in cycles the joints are 4 to 6 inches tall.

Ola’s new upgrade to its existing single front arm doesn’t give much confidence.

Since the bottom joint of the single arm is the female-joint the chances of water droplets remaining, after a rain or a wash is there. Thus the chances of rust generation and weakening the arm is very, very high.

OLA S1 Air comes with Telescopic Front Fork - unlike the Ola S1 Pro which still comes with single arm.
