- Company Overview:
Suzlon Energy: Suzlon Energy Limited is one of the leading renewable energy solutions providers based in Pune, India. It is a global wind turbine manufacturer and renewable energy project developer with a significant presence in various countries worldwide.
Inox Wind: Inox Wind Limited is…
also an Indian wind energy solutions provider with a primary focus on manufacturing wind turbines and providing turnkey wind power solutions. It is a part of the Inox Group, a diversified business conglomerate in India.
2. Market Reach:
Suzlon Energy has been present in the wind energy industry for several years and has established a strong global presence. It has installed wind turbines in various countries and has significant operations in India and other international markets.
Inox Wind has been growing its market presence over the years and has also undertaken projects both in India and abroad. However, compared to Suzlon , its global reach is relatively smaller.

3. Manufacturing:
Suzlon Energy is known for its expertise in manufacturing a wide range of wind turbines. It offers various models with different capacities to cater to diverse market needs.
Inox Wind primarily focuses on manufacturing advanced and technologically efficient wind turbines. It has developed its turbines in-house and has a competitive product lineup.
4. Financial Performance:
Both companies have faced financial challenges in the past. Suzlon Energy, in particular, has dealt with a high level of debt during expansion to Europe,. It was severely affected by Lehman Brother crisis in 2008. It has in 2023 lowered its debt considerably and turned profitable.

Inox Wind, being a relatively newer player, might have faced certain growth-related challenges, but it has also shown promising growth potential.

5. Technology:
Both companies have invested in research and development to improve the efficiency and performance of their wind turbines. Technological advancements have been crucial for staying competitive in the renewable energy sector.

6. Installations:
Suzlon Energy and Inox Wind both have been involved in the installation of wind farms and renewable energy projects in India and other countries. While Suzlon has installed 20Gw of wind energy it is not very clear at all how much Inox has installed in total. Inox Wind website here seems to suggest that Inox Wind has installed just 1.5 GW (15,000MW) world wide.
For eg: Global giant Siemens Gamesa which has installed 118 Gw worldwide mentioned in a press release in 27 Dec 2021 that it has done (just) 7 GW of installations in India. Suzlon achieved 11 Gw installations in India in year 2017.
7. Recognition:
Suzlon Energy has been a well-established and recognized player in the global wind energy industry for many years.
Inox Wind, while making strides in the sector, is still working on building a comparable level of recognition.
Conclusion; Bacha… bacha hota hai… baap tho baap hota hai… Suzlon is head, neck & shoulders above Inox Wind.
Would you buy 1,000 shares… of Inox Wind Energy at Rs 2,410 or Suzlon Wind Energy at Rs 19?
One can buy 126 Suzlon shares for the price of 1 Inox Wind Energy Share (or 11 Inox Wind share).
Suppose:
- If both companies give Re1 as dividend then Suzon shareholders will get Rs 126 while Inox Wind Energy or Inox Wind shareholders will get just Re1. Now if you are holding 1,000 Suzlon shares say costing a total of Rs 19,000 then you will get Rs 1,000 as dividend.
- If both companies issue 1:1 bonus shares then Suzlon shareholders will get 126 +126 =252 shares while Inox shareholders will get just 1+1=2 shares. Now if you are holding 1,000 Suzlon shares, you will get an extra 1,000 shares as bonus. Thus you will end up having 2,000 Suzlon shares. So next year your dividend will practically DOUBLE. Meaning instead of getting Rs 1,000 you could get Rs 2,000 as dividend on your now 2,000 Suzlon shares.
SEE the difference is HUGE. People might want to sell their Inox stock and buy Suzlon share.
