Before you pick up that club let me make it clear… we said Lazy Farmers… and not all Farmers!

Before we come to the Tax the Farmer bit… lets be clear that Govt must take care that the poorer section of the economy is taxed the least. But with GST on food items they are taxed ON PAR with the RICH. So how do we solve this?
- INCOME TAX – Anybody who earns less than 10 Lakhs should have Zero Tax. Anything more should be taxed at 10% flat. Keep it simple. This is good for next 10 yrs. Set Higher standards for human life. Be the Vishwaguru… lead the world… not follow other countries. (If not this then at least allow other growing expenses like full rent-paid, full electricity-paid & fuel paid as deductions for individuals). But keeping 10 Lakhs is best & simple. Today’s exemption limit of Rupees 3 Lakhs (which is Rs 25,000 per month) is a joke because uneducated labourers, rickshaw/uber drivers make more than this. Expecting them to file for Zero-Tax returns will increase huge paperwork with no added tax income for the govt.
- GST – Increase the GST limit for companies from 20 L to at least 1Cr. This is because in the last 5 yrs the economy & inflation – both has grown at a very fast pace. In the next 5 yrs it will grow even more.
- Our version of Farmer TAX is explained below:
It is true the Government of India since independence has not been able to contribute much to the Agriculture sector of the country. But it has done something and it can still do a lot more.
But what if we tell you that the Farmer too can do his two bit… to not only support himself but also help the economy & the government.
It is just shocking to see farms after farms… acres after acres… attempted to being farmed… MINDLESSLY… without a single pond, solar panel or biogas system on the farm.
The farmers care shit and are not interested to harvest (catch the) rainwater, sun rays or manage waste created by them on their land.
It is just shocking to see farms after farms… acres after acres… attempted to being farmed… MINDLESSLY… without a single pond, solar panel or biogas system on the farm.

What are they thinking? Its possible to farm without water, electricity or fuel? It is time Farming is considered a business and has to be run like a business. If they cannot farm then they need to be replaced by people who can take care of the land.

Having a pond on the farm is the minimum to have a successful produce. Farming without a pond is like manufacturing without electricity. It also helps manage sudden downpours.
If you don’t have a pond on your farm… after rain the whole farm will become a pond.
A) The area of the pond has to have a minimum 2,000 sqft per acre and a depth of at least 6ft at the deepest end and should not have any liner underneath the pond. (So that the water will percolate under the ground and stay on the farm land. It will also reduce the cost of having a pond on the farm).

B) Size of the Solar Panel should be a minimum of 1kw battery-less On-Grid System. They could have a second set of panel bigger or with battery. The best way to find the number of panels = the Squarefeet area of your house.
So if you have a 1,000 sqft house then the solar panels (each panels of 300w rating) should cover 1,000 sqft on an average… but not less that 500sqft.
You can opt for 1KW system or, 3KW or 5KW 10KW or 25KW.
For people with a single One Ton Airconditoner 3KW is good enough. For people with 2ACs 5KW is better.
You can have a small garden of pots on your terrace so whenever you clean the solar panels without just water (don’t use soap) the runoff can be carried to gardening pipes to the pots to water the plants.

c) Size of BioGas plant should be 50kg per acre.
Enough is enough… there is a limit to what the Govt can do! The govt can provide interest free or low interest loans for these schemes.
The govt must make it VERY CLEAR to all the farmers to have these 3 (Pond, Solar Panel & Biogas System – PSB) on their farm by next year or else pay PSB Tax.
a) Notice can be issued along with the Property Tax bill to have these 3 (Pond, Solar Panel & BioGas System – PSB) on their farm by next year or else pay PSB Tax.
b) Notice must be issued to them (in 3 languages – English, Hindi & local language) and their signature taken on the copy and attached to the Property Tax receipt.
c) For Solar& BioGas system they must at least apply to the bank for a loan to the said MNRE companies installing the system. The govt can give a subsidy or loans on very low interest to such people.

Crop damage payment and loan waivers must only be given to these farmers who have Pond, Solar & Biogas system on their farms.

The farmers with more than 1 borehole should use at least 1 borehole as an inlet to store rooftop rainwater in borehole.
Implementing these 3 on all farms in India will transform India completely and make it self sufficient & increase the living standard in villages.
This will also reduce people moving to the bigger cities in search of livelihood.
The problem currently is if you tell farmers to dig a pond they will say the govt is not giving JCB to dig pond. If you tell them to install a BioGas they will say govt is not giving subsidy on it. If you tell them to install a Solar system they will say govt needs to give more subsidy.

There are many such people we know and who can afford to get these things done on their own. They would rather spend money on buying a car or a bike or even update iPhone to the latest version every often than install Pond, Solar or Biogas on their farms.
