Top Selling Electric Scooter in India | 2025-2026

(this blog will be updated with the monthly sales figures as they become available)

Ather gets ahead with BaaS Ownership Model

If you are in Stock Market… please avoid depending upon VAHAN DATA to take stock decisions… as it is not a PERFECT website.

HIGHLIGHT: Ather Energy finally makes podium by finishing 3rd best.

Please note that the Vahan Data is misleading (probably faulty or manipulated) and not perfect. In the starting of every month Ola registration falls to almost 50% then VERY STRANGELY 20th onwards the registration-speed seem to increase and peak towards the end of the month.

eg: from 1st to 19th daily registration will be shown as 300 to 320 vehicles per day… showing 19 day total of just 6,000 vehicles.

Then from 20th onwards registrations will average around 1,200 daily… totaling about 12,000 in just 10 days… Thus at the end of the month the total will add up above 18,000 vehicles.

This incongruent data (of first 19 days of the month) is used by press/online media websites to create confusion in the minds of the Ola Share holders… and to show that Ola Sales are DECLINING.

Here you can see rather strangely… media shows less sales for Ola than Vahan Data… while doing the opposite for Ather. The Media data for Ather is much more than the Vahan Data...
how does this even happen? Who is the Media fooling?

Every month the websites and NEWS media shout that “based on Vahan Data Ather is selling more scooters than Ola”…. “Based on Vahan Data the sales of Ola have fallen by 50%”… etc.

But at the end of the month you will see that it is not so… and the difference in Sale of Ola Electric vehicles and Ather Energy is huge… Ola has almost always sold more vehicles than Ather… while Ather crossed 16,000 for the first time in August 2025.

Eg: in Vahan Data the end of month difference in registration between Ola and Ather is more than 4,800. Yet during the month media had continuously … almost daily reported that Ather is selling more than Ola Electric… and how Ola Electric has lost its place and how due to service problems Ola Electric is losing its place… this is written every single day by different media websites.

Similar mischief was done by media… at least in June, July and Aug 2025.

Conclusion of Aug 2025 data:

  1. In spite of being a very heavy rainy month Aug 2025 2Wheeler sales were in line with traditional sales pattern… selling more in Aug than in July.
  2. The top seller was TVS iQube... selling 27,604 in April but couldn’t repeat the magic in the remaining 4 mths.
  3. June was the best month for Bajaj and Ola… Bajaj’s sold 23,032 while Ola’s sold 20,190.
  4. August was the top month for both Ather and Hero selling 17,856 and 13,313 respectively… the two companies with steadily improving sales.
  5. Hero has improved its game considerably… increased its tally from 7k to 10k in July and then again to 13k in Aug… the difference could be the portable battery pack of Hero’s VIDA scooter.
  6. Right now Bajaj, Ather and Hero got pushed into the same class room while Ola got promoted to SENIOR CLASS… 2nd place.
  1. TVS right now seems untouchable… with a 7k difference between itself and Ola. Will Ola’s Navratri launch and TVS’s Rare Earth problems turn the table?
  2. The biggest HIGHLIGHT was Ather Energy who got to No. 3 position… Ather gets to the Podium for the first time in 12 yrs. The one who started the electric scooter revolution in India. Ather reaching No.3 calls for celebration because both Ola and Ather are competing with the biggest 2 wheeler companies in the world. Coming in 3rd is no small achievement.
  3. The worst company in August was Bajaj… who has deservingly hit the bottom of the barrel. Be it for OVER dependence on China… or Rare Earth Motors or for Technology… Unfortunately the CEO had no foresight in spite of Nitin Gadkariji warning him… and India’s precarious political situation with China… depending on a country which is considered more as an enemy than a friend… how do these people take it so lightly as if there is no problem or issues with India-China… and continue to do trade as if everything is normal?
  4. Ola electric has been very consistent in coming 2 & 3 and giving a very tough fight to the big players who have been the biggest 2-Wheeler makers not only in India but the entire world. This should itself give an idea of how good Ola as a company is.
  5. We can consider October (Diwali) sales as the FINAL Showdown between TVS and OLA… (Sept 2025 could be the Semi-Finals) whoever wins in October… can be considered as the Electric 2-Wheeler king of India for the year 2025-2026.
