About PlugInCaroo

Let us as a Nation move towards fuel efficient vehicles, clean water, green farms and a clean-green environment! India receives some of the highest rainfall in the world... still the country thirst for water... why? India has the highest cattle population in the world...but hardly extracts any biogas/gobar-gas from it... why? India tops the world in almost all agricultural products... but less than 1% is organic/natural... why? India receives good sunlight and has a Solar powered Airport... but less than 0.01% of houses are powered by solar power... why? India has the best electric/CNG car in the world (E2O/Tata NANO).. but 99.99% of car owners prefer to pay in dollars for their petrol.. why? (1Ltr = 1$ almost). All these problems can be solved by us 100% within our lifetime... if we take action to solve these issues personally and bringing awareness about it, (instead of discussing TV serials, celebrities, cricket scores & political parties). Let us together build a bridge of knowledge over ignorance! Lets us become independent from "Fuel, Water and Seed control". Right from the time when fire was discovered as a source of energy people have been trying to control the source of energy... not any more!

The Great Indian EV Battery dilemma!

https://i0.wp.com/autochunk.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Bolt-electric-bike-concept-2.jpg

Many people when starting-up their EV dream usually start with “advanced” Li-Ion batteries in mind. Then after making the vehicle find that the product is turning out expensive especially when compared with its use and benefits. For eg. a 2 to 3 lakh motorcycle/scooter for your office journey is very expensive when you can get a CNG-Nano car at the same price and ride much, much safer and comfortably in Air condition interior, listening to your favourite songs/FM and make calls… all this at almost the same fuel price of an EV (battery+charging cost).

Making a Rs 300,000 e-scooter/motorcycle is… Continue reading

Sunny Days for the EV Charging Kiosks

What is an EV charging Kiosk? This is an EV Charging Station that could (depending upon the location) charge your EV for free or for a FEE. This fee could also vary depending upon the location of the station.

How does it work?

How the Smart EV Charging Kiosk/Station would function. These are already functioning in UK
How the Smart EV Charging Kiosk/Station functions in UK. The 3rd step can be avoided by getting RFID built in the vehicle. This will also protect against theft.

There is also another challenge… about places with power cuts. There is solution for this also. In places like Kerala even today they almost live in the dark ages… Continue reading

Why Venture Capital and Pre-Orders are a shitty combo?

https://i0.wp.com/core0.staticworld.net/images/article/2014/08/venture_capital-100372461-primary.idge.jpg

Where ever there is venture capitalist there is that line on the website asking you for a “pre-order”. Where ever there is pre-order there there is venture capitalist. What the hell is the pre-order? Before the VCs era there was either an order or cancellation of the order. But pre-order is the request to make an order for a product that is still NOT produced yet… but exist only on paper or probably in plans. If there are… Continue reading

01 September 2016

https://i0.wp.com/www.energynext.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Kerala-to-have-Solar-Powered-E-rickshaws-Soon.jpg

Kerala will soon have a solar-powered three-wheeler rickshaws. The solar panels fitted on the roof  will provide power, stored in a battery. The battery can be charged by electricity in the absence of solar power. The project, conceptualized by an entrepreneur, is set to be launched on August 15.

The vehicle is being assembled by Lifeway Solar Private Limited, a Kochi-based enterprise, owned by Georgekutty Karianappally, who said the vehicle could seat five persons.

The solar panels fitted on the roof are 1.5 metres long and 1 metre wide. The vehicle can attain a speed of 40 km and can run a minimum of 80 km with a six-hour charging from solar light, Mr. Karianapally said. After the pilot project, it would be extended to various cities in Kerala, he said.

The project has been submitted for clearance from the Transport Commissionerate hoping that clearance would be received soon.

When Ather Energy was in the process of designing and building its electric scooter never in their wildest dreams did they think that the biggest competition for them would be from another start-up company in India. This competition could indeed be in the form of Tork Motors the developers of Electric Motorcycle who are planning for a Diwali 2016 launch.

Both companies are building their vehicle on Li-Ion battery technology. Ather is having a range of 70kms and top speed of around 75kmph. Tork is supposed… Continue reading

TM E-Speed Electric Scooter Revealed 2016

KTM has announced plans to produce the Speed scooter concept it showed at Tokyo this year as the E-SPEED. Based on the FREERIDE E electric drivetrain, the production version of the E-SPEED is expected to deliver a performance profile similar to a 125cc gas-powered scooter. At nearly 15 hp, the output of the E-SPEED should be well suited to urban riding, especially given its top speed of just under 55 mph. That puts it in Stella or Symba territory performance wise. Take a close look at the front rotor and you’ll see an ABS ring. Will this make it to production? While no mention of range was given, the 4.36kWh battery is said to charge in as little as two hours on 220v of wall power.

Most larger electrics give the performance of a 150cc gas-powered scooter in the form factor of a 650. Meanwhile the electric scooters actually sized like 150s give a performance output that’s shamed by many 50cc gas-powered bikes.
