Hero Motocorp aggressive EV strategy

Motorcycle market leader Hero Motocorp is planning an aggressive foray into electric vehicle market by launching both electric scooters and motorcycles. They had invested 30% stake in Ather Energy who is expected to launch their product before Diwali 2018. It seems Ather will be launching more than 1 vehicle!

Sachin Tendulkar raises concern on health catastrophe | PlugInCaroo

Health Series 01 – Sachin Tendulkar raises concern on looming Health catastrophe The Master Blaster took to social media platform Facebook in Dec 2017 with a message of ‘transforming India from being a sport loving nation to a sport playing nation’.

In the 15-minute long video, Tendulkar talked about his vision of a healthy and a fit India. He went on to say that being a sportsperson, he would talk about sports, health and fitness, for it has a telling impact on India’s economy.

Tendulkar raised the issue of India being the diabetic capital of the world with over 75 million people affected by the disease, and when it comes to obesity India is at number three spot in the world and the economic burden of these diseases will not allow the country to progress. Charging points at Delhi Railway stations coming soon!

The Railways will provide space for electric vehicle charging stations at the parking lots of train stations to promote the use of green energy. To begin with, the parking lots at the New Delhi and Nizamuddin railway stations in the capital have been identified to set up e-vehicle (EV) charging spots and “necessary preparations” are underway, according to a senior Railway Ministry official.

Small helpless EVs or Self Powered EVs?

Never understood the fact why people make small EVs that can never charge itself and have to depend on the grid to charge itself… in a country where 60% of the population don’t have access to 24×7 electricity. Then say these things are not selling!

Or consider if there is war or emergency and the grid is down… how will millions of the then (year 2050) existing electric vehicles recharge?

On the other hand making the vehicle bigger can allow the vehicle to carry solar panels on the roof to charge itself and also protect the driver, battery and passengers in case of a crash. Bigger the vehicle safer it is in a crash. Always in a crash… the bigger vehicle wins!

Reliance Energy to set up EV charging stations in Mumbai

Reliance Energy plans to set up more than 15 electric vehicle charging stations in Mumbai over the next three months. The company recently sold its entire power business covering Mumbai to Adani Transmission for Rs 18,800 crore.

The city will be divided into five zones having three charging stations at each zone. Each zone will have a slow charging station and two fast charging station. Tata Power has already set up a couple of charging stations in Mumbai which features fast chargers.
