Beijing: China has produced the world’s first electric passenger aircraft to gain an airworthiness certificate.
The “BX1E” has a 14.5-metre wingspan and a maximum payload of 230 kg. It can fly at an altitude of 3,000 metres, Xinhua news agency reported. It can be charged within two hours and can fly for 45 minutes to an hour at a maximum speed of 160 kmph.

The Tindo solar battery-charged bus (“Tindo”, Kaurna word for sun) is an experimental battery electric vehicle that operates in Adelaide, Australia. It is the world’s first solar bus, operating since 2007. It uses 100% solar power, is equipped with a regenerative braking system and air conditioning and can carry up to 40 persons, 25 of whom are seated. The bus itself is not equipped with solar panels. It receives electric power from a photovoltaic system on Adelaide’s central bus station. Hailed as the world’s first bus service powered exclusively by solar power, the bus service connects Adelaide City and North Adelaide as part of Adelaide City’s sustainable transport agenda. The Tindo is part of the 98A and 98C bus service (until recently known as the Adelaide Connector) which is offered as free public transport.

When Elon Musk went about setting up a battery manufacturing plant called Gigafactory people thought that he was building battery plant for the cars that his company would be manufacturing. People thought he would be selling about 10,000 Tesla cars a year at the maximum as they wre quite expensive. But Elon being Elon was out thinking everybody and leaping ahead into building the fuel-storage-blocks of tomorrow.
It all started when a team of 5 students came together with a dream – to built a solar car that can run on the bountiful sunshine in the country, writes Manu A B.
“The overall project has cost close to Rs 25,00,000. But this is not the cost of the vehicle as it includes everything from printing a flyer to procuring steel for the chassis. It includes a customs duty, transportation costs, and also estimates the value of in-kind sponsorship from supporters such as Tata Power Solar, who provided us with the Solar Module,” points out Anudeep Reddy.In a bid to build innovative and green solutions to ease India’s traffic woes, a group of students from Manipal Institute of Technology. The students built a prototype of a solar electric car, which can hit a speed of up to 60 kmph.

Nano GenX vs Alto vs Hyundai Eon vs WagonR vs Hyundai i10
Tatas will soon be opening for the booking of the Tata Nano Automatic (AMT) which goes by the name of Nano GenX. We at PlugInKaroo bring you the first review of the vehicle. We have compared the vehicle against 25 parameters and the Nano has come out on top in 10 of them while i10 and WagonR come out on top in just 4 each. This is a vast difference… this shows that Nano is one excellent and useful car. Do also note that the cost of the i10 is about two times the cost of a Nano. We have compared only the top variant of each car as we feel if one has to buy a car you must as well want to use the best feature it has to offer else settle for an auto rickshaw. After all a car you buy is for your and your family’s comfort!

I liked Jay Leno’s Tata Nano review… its honest and to the point… he is spot on about the number of people the car can accommodate and the air-conditioner….it can accommodate more people than you can imagine and the conditioner is awesome.
