About PlugInCaroo

Let us as a Nation move towards fuel efficient vehicles, clean water, green farms and a clean-green environment! India receives some of the highest rainfall in the world... still the country thirst for water... why? India has the highest cattle population in the world...but hardly extracts any biogas/gobar-gas from it... why? India tops the world in almost all agricultural products... but less than 1% is organic/natural... why? India receives good sunlight and has a Solar powered Airport... but less than 0.01% of houses are powered by solar power... why? India has the best electric/CNG car in the world (E2O/Tata NANO).. but 99.99% of car owners prefer to pay in dollars for their petrol.. why? (1Ltr = 1$ almost). All these problems can be solved by us 100% within our lifetime... if we take action to solve these issues personally and bringing awareness about it, (instead of discussing TV serials, celebrities, cricket scores & political parties). Let us together build a bridge of knowledge over ignorance! Lets us become independent from "Fuel, Water and Seed control". Right from the time when fire was discovered as a source of energy people have been trying to control the source of energy... not any more!

Rainwater Harvesting in India

This year, the summer has been extremely hot in India. Phalodi in Rajasthan, for example, recorded a temperature of 51°C – the highest ever recorded in India. Many states, such as Maharashtra, were hit by a severe drought and drinking water had to be transported through ‘water trains’. This crisis has led to renewed efforts to search for better methods to conserve water.

Rainwater harvesting is one… Continue reading

E-Cycles or E-Scootors

Both e-cycles & e-scooters/e-motorcycles with speed below 25kmph and around 250V motor are automatically exempted from requiring ARAI approval. This is the biggest advantage of these category of bikes and they do not need any license, insurance or permits to ride. This cuts out a lot of red tape.

This is the best sector for Startups to enter this sector. This sector is also great for the customer as he does not need licence, insurance or any kind of permits and this is very easy to handle bike for running errands  baji or routine shopping or even picking up kids from schools. As there is enough income for the manufacturers that this sector has the most boringly designed cycles, scooters and motorcycles.

Doodwala cycle… at least they had bigger wheels 😦

Most manufacturers say they are making the… Continue reading

Indian Rlys turning garbage into gold!

Indian Railways has started the work of turning garbage into gold… not exactly gold but a resource more important and valuable than gold… creating Methane from garbage.

Garbage will be collected from 12 stations, including Amritsar, Ambala, Haridwar, Jammu, Katra, Dehradun, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai Central and Dadar

Eager to generate non-fare revenue from various sources, Railways is firming up proposals to sell the garbage generated at stations across the country.

“We are examining a proposal from a waste… Continue reading

The food we eat is adding to climate change?

How far does your food come from? Does the miles in your food add to climate change? Are you eating food that cannot be made in your kitchen? Is your food made by killing a herbivore? If the answer to even one of the question is “YES” then YOU ARE ADDING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.

LeEco just leapfrogged Tesla!

While Tesla engineers have been gradually adding autonomous capabilities to its electric stable, Chinese firm LeEco has gone one step further and announced a car that can do it right from the off.

The LeSEE car from China, managed to drive itself on the stage with little more than a few voice commands spoken into a smartphone by CEO Jia Yueting. It even reversed, too.

Now, to be fair, you can summon your Tesla via smartphone, but not using voice commands, yet. But this is a big jump for LeEco, a company that… Continue reading

1 Lakh Biogas plants coming up in each State!!!

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has allocated to the States and Union Territories (UTs) an annual target of setting up one lakh (100,000) family size biogas plants (1 m3 to 6 m3 capacity) for the current year.

A 2 cubic metre capacity Biogas Digester (Plant)
This will result in a likely saving of about 21,90,000 LPG cooking cylinders annually, besides providing biogas plant processed bio-manure to reduce and supplement use of chemical fertilizers, an official press release said.
There would be saving of about 10,000 tonnes of urea equivalent. The average envisaged saving of emissions through carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere would be about 4,50,000 tonnes and about 2,50,000 tonnes respectively, that would help in reducing the causes of climate change.
The MNRE is implementing a National Biogas and Manure Management Progamme (NBMMP) for setting up family type biogas plants in the country. The objective of the scheme is to provide clean gaseous fuel for cooking and organic bio-manure as a by-product in the form of biogas plant left over slurry, which contains higher values of Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
NBMMP also helps in mitigating drudgery of women in rural and semi-urban areas by saving in their time both in collection of firewood, making cattle dung cakes and cooking.
A biogas plant will facilitate in achieving sanitary in villages by linking sanitary toilets with cattle dung based biogas plants and the slurry bio-manure can be applied for crop production in solid, liquid or dried form.

Ather Scooter and bigger wheels

It has been the observation of PlugInCaroo from day one (and even during design stage) that Ather Scooter needs to have bigger wheel size to take advantage of its engine. It should have a minimum of 16 inches if it not  17 inches to take full advantages of the EV.

It already has a very powerful 3,000/5,000 watt motor and also has very powerful battery that can quickly transfer the power requirement to it really makes no sense in going with a small “scooter” wheel. Is the wheel a bottleneck to the awesome power output of the bike?

Just by putting on 17 inch wheels the very same bike (with a little modification) can easily cross 100kmph instead of the existing 75kmph speed. Moreover the bigger wheels along with the existing suspensions will only improve the ride quality and handling speed over rough terrain or unpaved roads. Over paved city roads the rid-quality will be unparalleled even by more expensive motorcycles or scooters!!!

Further the high rate of torque and speed pick-up makes it necessary to have bigger wheels. Since this could reduce range due to the added weight Ather can add a little bigger battery and position it as a premium model.

This bigger model can also be pushed as Electric-Trike, Electric-ATV, Electric 3 wheel or 4 wheel Tractor.

If they do manage to bring out a bigger wheel model they can move on to the electric Trike and electric ATV models. These do have a huge market in middle-east for leisure riding over sand dunes in the desert especially in the future taking into consideration the falling price of oil and the 2022 FIFA Football World Cup. Enormous business opportunity awaits Tarun and Swapil.

The 17 inch wheel will also enable them to get into the lucrative and ever growing tractor business in India and replace the existing tractors with cheaper Electric Tractors. As the Gulf Oil markets crumble and falls millions of Indians are going to return to India and get into Agriculture and this will create a huge boom around this business.

With smaller wheels their choice of vehicles will be limited.
