On Vahan dashboard… In first 15 days of Oct Ola Electric sold 5,250 eScooters… this is approx 1,000 more than what it did last mth…. but this is just the tip of the iceberg…
Ola has selected 150 Dealership Partners… each dealer could have 1 store or 3-4 stores.
Each of the dealership would pay Rs 60L to 1 Cr for 1 store as dealership fee. For this they would be supplied by 40 vehicles and 20 vehicles as spare parts, software and service training… and some amount will be held as security deposit.
So till now 150 dealers have been selected… and each of the store will get approx 60 vehicles… meaning this mth… Ola will be delivering approx 9,000 vehicles (150 stores x 60 vehicles) to these shops other than the sales showing on vahan.
Of course not all the 9,000 have been delivered… but they will be delivered by mth end… every day at least 2-3 dealerships are opening up… so it is almost a continous effort.
Once these vehicles reache the stores they will be put up on display and when sale happens the vehicle gets registered on Vahan.
So the vehicles are getting manufactured and distributed… we just cant see it yet… unless you visit a dealer showroom near you.
Pls note that we have used 1 shop per dealer for calculation… not 2 store or even 3 store per dealer.
3 things are very clear… RAMP UP is going on… upgrade is completed… and Roadsters are now visible in dealer shops.
BLINK… and you might miss it!
… and We are not even talking about the Dealership Fees of approx Rs 100-150 crs collected till now.
Althought production is up … sales need not be…Ola has crossed 16,000 sales per mth before so that might be a problem… but going beyond that… that will be difficult… because Rivals have some advantage that Ola does not have… like:
- BaaS… TVS, Hero, Ather and Greaves offer BaaS financing (BaaS EMI on Battery).
- Portable battery (Home Chargeing)… Hero and Ampere offer portable battery which can be carried home to charge.
- Swap-able Battery… Honda, Ampere (Magnus), Bounce, Yulu, eSprinto, Motovolt … all offer 2 minutes Battery swapping.
- 4. Price Advantage… due to all of the above… and some of the above scooter having low range (below 100kms)…they enjoy lower price points than Ola Electric scooters which focuses more on longer range.
But Ola will overcome this challenge in December 2026 when it launches Z-Series… bettering the rivals in every aspect… and Turning the table on them.
Once Z-Scooter launches in December… the world will never be the same again… the switch would be FOREVER flipped AGAINST Petrol Scooters… it would be the FINAL NAIL in the coffin for Petdol Scooters.
So peteol scooters have 3 more months to live… in Dec Yamraj kudh petrol scooter ke dukan ke bahar dhikega… and Iran War will push Crude Oil to USD 120 a barrel.
Jan 2027 Sales of Petrol should see severe BLOODBATH in domestic sales.
The lower priced Z-Scooter costing Rs 80,000 (Range 170 kms, 70kmph Top speed) will launch in Dec… while the expensive 300kms Range, 70kmph Top speed costing Rs 100,000 will launch in March 2027.
It will also coincide with the launch of the most sought after Olas Portable Powerbackup/inverter the 1.5kWh Shakti.
This will also officially be the launch of its other LFP Product series… the Inverter/powerbackup and the BESS products.
6GWh of battery is good enough to last till end of 2028 before Bhavish scales from 6GWh to 20GWh in 2029.
To raise money for 6-20GWh PLANT UPGRADE Ola will have 3 options in 2029:
- Subsidiary-Level Spin-Off IPO
- Qualified Institutional Placements (QIPs)
- Further Public Offers (FPO
- Public Issuance of Green Bonds & Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs).
